This represents the full and complete Privacy Policy of Synaxis Corporation (“Synaxis”, “Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). Please read carefully in order to fully understand your rights and responsibilities, as your privacy is important to us and we aim to respect it fully and completely. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. To that end we pledge to be open and transparent with you and respect your wishes to the best of our abilities. 

Please be aware that our website may use third party services, such as Google AdWords and Google FireBase, which we have no control over. 

This document serves as Synaxis Corporation’s privacy policy.

When you use our website, you are entrusting us with information. This information may be shared deliberately or inadvertently. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully as it affects you and it is important. 

A short summary of our stance regarding your privacy is as follows: 

  • You have the right to request information on what we know about you and how we use it. 

  • That information will be provided to you free of charge, once a year, at your request. 

  • You have the right to be forgotten and request your account information be deleted. 

  • We will strive to respect your rights, no matter where in the world you are. 

  • We will only share your information with you, in order to comply with applicable laws, to protect your rights, to fulfill business obligations, or to comply with active law enforcement investigations.

1. Law Enforcement 

When contacted by law enforcement handling an active investigation, we will provide such information we have to assist that investigation. We do not condone illicit activity and appreciate your understanding in that regard. Any request by law enforcement that we believe to be overreaching or abusive of the legal system will result in our Company retaining an attorney and working with law enforcement to narrow what is provided solely to what they need to accomplish their mission. 

If material comes to light that demonstrates or suggests a person is in a dangerous situation that will possibly result in serious harm or death, we will contact law enforcement and provide them with the information that has concerned us. 

2. What do we collect? 

As stated above, we respect your privacy. We collect your email, name, company name, and possibly your location, depending on how you utilize our website. Other information, such as your IP, phone information, etc., may be inadvertently acquired by third party services our app uses to function, such as Google AdWords or Google FireBase. We do not have any say in how those services handle your information and encourage you to carefully read their privacy policies. 

We may use cookies or tracking technologies as needed to provide you with accurate services. We pledge to minimize such tracking technology to solely that required to make our website functional. Please check our Cookie Policy (below) for further clarification. 

3. Use of Your Information 

As stated above, we may collect such information as needed to make our website work for you. Primarily, this entails your email address or contact information to interact with our company. 

Any information you provide is in order to facilitate you interacting with us. We may request name, address, phone, or other information in order to verify your identity. 

Company does not sell your information. We do not monetize our customers. What you provide us is used solely for your account. What you choose to knowingly provide to other parties is at your risk and discretion. What you provide to us will be treated with the utmost care and respect. 

At any point in time, should you determine that you are not satisfied with our website please contact us at hello@synaxiscorp.com and request deletion of your information. Be aware that once we delete your information, we cannot recover anything. 

4. Deletion 

As mentioned above, you may request account deletion and we will strive to promptly comply. If there is an investigation being conducted by law enforcement, we may be forced to retain such information as required by law. Otherwise anything we can delete, we will delete. You should receive automated confirmation of deletion or request confirmation of such deletion by contacting us at hello@synaxiscorp.com .  

Information that we no longer need will be deleted on a quarterly basis. 

5. Marketing 

Synaxis does not provide your information, user content, or material to marketing partners. Synaxis may work with providers such as Google AdWords, who may collect information on you via other means. 

Marketing companies may use information about your visits to their Website(s) and other websites that are contained in web cookies and other tracking technologies in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. We cannot control what they do and advise you to use discretion when clicking advertisements that take you away from our application. 

6. GDPR Compliance 

Company is global. We offer our services worldwide, in several languages, and we strive to comply with applicable laws and regulations, no matter where we go. 

To that end we recognize that the European Union has enacted the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). 

Synaxis has appointed Caroline Kelly to serve as the Data Protection Officer (DPO). She may be contacted at caroline@synaxiscorp.com with questions and concerns. We choose to appoint a DPO in this instance because information is processed systemically, on a wide scale, and involve possible sensitive materials. 

Subprocessors of information, as noted above, may include Google AdWords Google FireBase, and the application market you purchased the application from. We will update the list as we engage additional third parties to provide better services to our customers. 

Company does not handle material applicable under Article 3(2) of the GDPR. Accordingly, it does not have an Article 27 representative. Should circumstances change, this section will be updated accordingly. 

Data breaches will be reported to the applicable authority as soon as they are discovered. Customers will be notified promptly, and all steps required to protect their information will be taken. This may go so far as Company shutting down processes, applications, and programs to minimize the breach. We apologize in the event of such disruption. 

To find out what information is retained by Company about you, please contact the DPO, provide your account information, and we will strive to comply in a timely manner. Deletion of your information may be requested in a similar manner, with an affirmative statement acknowledging and accepting that such deletion is irreversible. 

7. California Residents 

California Civil Code Section § 1798.83, permits our California based customers to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about personal information we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year. 

If you are a California resident and would like to make a request related to California law, please submit your request in writing to us using the contact information provided below. 

If you are under 18 years of age, reside in California, and have a registered account with the application, you have the right to request removal of unwanted data that you publicly post on the application. To request removal of such data, please contact us using the contact information provided below, and include the email address associated with your account and a statement that you reside in California. 

Please be aware that the data may not be completely or comprehensively removed from our systems. We will do everything within our power to remove it, but some third-party systems, such as FireBase, may retain the material. 

Per California’s new AB 375 “The Consumer Privacy Act”, set to take effect in 2020, Company will remain open and honest in its dealings with California customers. We will update this section accordingly. Should you object to such update(s) you may cease and desist use of the application and we will move forward accordingly. 

8. Privacy Policy Updates 

As needed, we will update our privacy policy in order to comply with the applicable laws and regulations that govern how we do business. As stated above, by using our website you consent to and accept such changes. You have the right to be notified by e-mail of those updates. Should you opt-out of our e-mail notifications you knowingly acknowledge and accept such changes. 

If you disagree with an update to this policy you may contact us and request deletion of your information, cease and desist use of our website, and we will move forward accordingly.
